Course Content

This seminar invites you to explore gender inequalities and intersectionality in politics. We delve into the complexities of gender identity, representation, and power structures within political institutions. From examining historical and contemporary challenges faced by women and marginalized groups in politics to analyzing policies impacting gender equality, this seminar aims to uncover the multifaceted relationship between gender and politics. Through interactive discussion sessions and their own research, students develop the academic and research skills to write a scientific paper independently.

The course material will be made available on Canvas.

The specific dates for each of the sessions, and the deadline for the paper will be specified in the syllabus on Canvas.

Bachelor thesis determines 100% of the final mark.

Within the Bachelor thesis category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Bachelor Paper with a relative weight of 100 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

The assessment consists of the following assignment categories:

  • Written paper: 75%
  • Oral presentation paper: 10%
  • Active participation and effort in group sessions in semester 1 and 2: 15%

De partial exam results for the 'written paper' and 'oral presentation' are transferred to the second session if the student obtains a 10/20 or more for the respective assignment.
