U kan eveneens inschrijven voor dit studieplan na het volgen van het Voorbereidingsprogramma Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (enkel in het Engels).

Overzicht inhoud van dit studieplan

The standard track in the Joint Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (120 ECTS) consists out of 5 modules:
1) Common compulsory courses year 1 (56 ECTS)
2) Elective courses year 1 (4 ECTS)
3) One compulsory, masterspecific group (1 group out of 4 groups provided, 16 ECTS each) and 8 ECTS from 'extra compulsory elective courses'
4) General elective courses (12 ECTS)
5) Master Thesis Electrical Engineering (24 ECTS)

Each of the modules should be successfully completed to obtain the master degree. The student should respect the specified registration requirements. The educational board strongly suggests the student to follow the standard learning track. Only this model track can guarantee a time schedule without overlapsof the compulsory course units.

In totaal, omvat dit studieplan 120 ECTS credits.

Elective Courses in year 2

Students registered in the 2nd year of the master programme have to select a number of elective courses. The student has to complete 16 ECTS of electives. They can choose these electives from the list mentioned below, from the list of 'Extra Electives Compulsory Courses' (above), or from outside of this list when sufficiently motivated and subject to approval by the chair person of the EE program. At most 6 ECTS of electives can be chosen outside of the list below.

Master Thesis

The Master Thesis (24 ECTS) is compulsory. Registration for the Master Thesis is allowed provided that
1. the student doesn't have a combined bachelor-master enrollment
2. the student has already successfully accomplished 45 ECTS of compulsory courses of the master program (exemptions included).

The master thesis is the final stage within the model track of the master programme during which the obtained competences and skills are applied to achieve independently a succesfull scientific project. The master thesis must be achieved in the 2nd year of the standard learning track.
