The course offers an introduction to the research domain of human geography. Human geographers study the relation between people and their environment with specific attention paid to the spatial patterns of social interactions.
All literature is made available on Canvas.
At the end of the course you should:
- Have an insight into the main research domains of human geography;
- Have a first awareness of the historical development of human geography as a research domain;
- Understand the relation between human geography and other disciplines;
- Have a preliminary knowledge of the main research methods used in human geography.
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 60% of the final mark.
PRAC Teamwork determines 40% of the final mark.

Evaluation is on the basis of a written exam, group presentations and exercises.
Partial marks are transferred to the resit period. The student can relinquish this partial mark, provided she/he reports this to the course coordinator not later than August 15 or October 1 (in case of transfer to the next academic year).
