Course Content

This course focuses on general methodical and didactic aspects of youth sports coaching. The most important factors that can contribute to the provision of quality coaching for youth members in sport will be discussed. Three elements will be central to this: the position and motives of the young person, the role of the youth sports coach (especially the coaching style that is used) and the activity itself (such as training and/or competition). These elements are also always placed in a broader context (in relation to others: such as parents, other youth members, board members, sports federation). The content is provided both from a general and a sport-specific framework. The latter is always focused on the students' own expertise and experiences.
