Course Content

This course can exist (but is not limited to) out of a session rugby, a session nature sports (Kayak, rowing and orientation run), Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to illustrate school grappling, Tchoukball, hockey, sport for people with a handicap, and can possibly be refilled with other sessions. Basics of these sports will be educated.

Work out a written seminar on one of these sports, describing scientific and critical how these sports can be implemented for different target groups (elderly, youngsters, handicapped, …) Discuss the impact of this implication on sociological, psychological and agogic level incl. the correct references to the literature (min 4, max 7 pages) and add a course preparation for an initiation lesson.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
PRAC Practical Assignment determines 75% of the final mark.
Other determines 25% of the final mark.

Within the PRAC Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Seminariewerk with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 75% of the final mark.

Within the Other category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Praktijk : inzet en attitude with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 25% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

For all classes presence is obliged. If you have more than one invalid absence, you cannot participate to the exam in both exam periods and you will be given a score of 0/20 in both exam periods.  

Scores are calculated as follows:
25% on positive attitude during classes,
75% on seminar paper (deadline for handing in on the first day of the exam period). This paper will be evaluated based on the following content: (1) clarification psychosocial relevance 40%; (2) specific content (sport en target group) 20%; (3) lesson sheet 20%; (4) correct references 10%; (5) language 10%. If a score lower than 8/20 is obtained for (1), (2) or (3), than this will become the final score for the paper and per consequence, the entire course.   

if 'other' or the paper is scored less than 8/20, this will become the final score.

Scores of 10/20 will be transferred to the second exam period, not the next academic year.

Allowed unsatisfactory mark
The supplementary Teaching and Examination Regulations of your faculty stipulate whether an allowed unsatisfactory mark for this programme unit is permitted.
