Course Content
The aim of the guided self-study is to acquire the background knowledge in molecular cell biology needed for the core curriculum.

As students in the Master program in Biomolecular Sciences will have a variety in background, an appropriate consolidation phase is needed at the start of the program. The contents of this phase will be determined on an individual basis at the start.
The student will get a detailed list of topics to study and will be guided and accompanied in his study of general principles of molecular cell biology.
The result of this phase is that each student has acquired the needed prerequisites in molecular cell biology.

Please note that the textbook and scientific articles are in English, Dutch can be used during the self-study as well as at the examen. The book "Molecular Biology of the Cell" (B. Alberts) will mostly be used.
Additional material will be provided on a case to case basis.
