Course Content
In general : the study and mastering plastic means, techniques and materials.

Image

Plastic art as interdisciplinary provocation. Worldviews and critical engagement.

Form

Knowledge of natural and artificial forms; their complexity, variation and creation.
Relationship form, measure and material. Classicification of formal phenomena/concepts (contrast, hierarchy, structure...). Dynamics of form (transformation, regeneration, re-use...)

Based on different theories and approaches (Russian Constructivism, Modernism, Bauhaus, "De Stijl",…). Phenomena are discussed in detail and a creative application is expected in relation to the architectural design.

Colour

Use of colour in architecture, physical aspects of light and colour, recognition and classification of different colours based on tone colour and colour tint (NCS system), combination of colours, colour harmonies an their architectural application.

PRAC Practical Assignment determines 50% of the final mark.
SELF Practical Assignment determines 50% of the final mark.

Within the PRAC Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • deelopdrachten with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 50% of the final mark.

    Note: Evaluatie deelopdrachten: 50 %
    De deelopgaven tijdens het semester fungeren als examen. Het examen verloopt onder de vorm van een evaluatie in groepsverband na elke deelopdracht. Een synthese van elke taak wordt gebundeld in een portfolio.
