The objective of this course is to give the first notions about non-linear constitutive model dedicated to the mechanical behaviour of geomaterials.
I : INTRODUCTION
° Constitutive modelling in geomechanics
° Geomaterials and historical overview of geomechanics
° Stress state in geomaterials
° Conventional experimental tests
II : MECHANICAL CONSTITUTIVE MODELING OF GEOMATERIALS
° General overview of constitutive laws
° Elasticity
° Elasto-plasticity
° Elastic – perfectly plastic models
° Critical state and hardening models
° Behaviour of unsaturated soils
III: ADVANCED GEOMECHANICS
° Non-conventional testing
° Effects of environmental variables on soil behaviour
° Modeling of geomechanical problems
The course material consists in Powerpoint delivered by the teacher, accessible on Pointcarré.
