Offer 1 with catalog number 4021262ENR for all students in the 1st semester at a (E) Master - advanced level.
Cognitive behaviour therapie will be considered from different perspectives.
The Flemisch / dutch behaviour therapie is process-based and focuses strongly on the individual case conceptualization for the selection of the interventions making it tailored to the specific needs of the client. It is based on learning psychology, using the learning processes of classical and operant conditioning to explain the occurrence and maintenance of psychological problems. These conditioning principles are then also used for the development of interventions.
The Britisch / American behaviour therapy focuses more on the central role of cognitions and interpretations to explain the occurrence and maintenance of psychological problems. The traditional cognitive view of Beck is dicussed and building on his theory cognitive therapy. Interventions are divised and implemented as treatment protocols.
Another view is the schema-focused therapy (SFT) which is an extension of the cognitive view, but applied for personality disorders. SFT is more integrative in its approach and interventions.
Last, third wave CBT interventions are discussed such as. Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) and compassion focused therapy (CFT).
