Course Content

This course focusses on theories and insights with regard to communication skills (suck as active listening, feedback, motivational interviewing) and interactional processes (such as therapeutic positioning, coping with countertransference). Communicational and interactional skills are practiced in role play and exercises. Furthermore, this course focuses upon reflection of communicative/interactional skills and your role as counselor.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Oral Exam determines 50% of the final mark.
PRAC Practical Assignment determines 50% of the final mark.

Within the Oral Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Oral exam with a relative weight of 50 which comprises 50% of the final mark.

    Note: Theory exam, oral, closed book

Within the PRAC Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Practical assignments with a relative weight of 50 which comprises 50% of the final mark.

    Note: Attendance during PRAC (2 points)
