This course addresses all aspects of psychosocial well-being at work. All kinds of psychosocial risks inherent to the job content, job conditions, labour relations, labour conditions and work organization can have an effect on the functioning and well-being of workers. Psychosocial well-being received a prominent place in the legislation on general well-being at work. There are a lot of parties involved in the implementation of this law (e.g. prevention advisor psychosocial well-being, counselor, HRM, comite for prevention and protection at work, ...). Employers must comply with a number of obligations (e.g. risk analysis, prevention policy) and are, where necessary, supported by external services for prevention and protection at work.
In this course we study the main theories on stress and well-being at work, explore the legislation on well-being at work, examine risk factors at work, the obligations of the various parties involved, the development of a prevention policy, and we also pay attention to practical cases.
