Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Other Exam determines 10% of the final mark.
Master Thesis determines 90% of the final mark.

Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Procesevaluatie with a relative weight of 10 which comprises 10% of the final mark.

Note: For the assessment of the process, criteria related to social and organizational skills are considered. This score will be awarded by the person who supervised the master’s thesis. In order to determine the score, the supervisor may gather additional information from relevant actors (e.g. professional field, partners who were involved in the research project, etc.)

Within the Master Thesis category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Masterproef with a relative weight of 90 which comprises 90% of the final mark.

Note: The master’s thesis should preferably be written as a scientific article and contains a certificate of the plagiarism software Turnitin.
A more detailed manual with additional information on formatting rules, deadlines, assessment and deviating (format) agreements specific to one research domain can be found in the course room of this module on CANVAS.

The jury determines the final score on the basis of a list of generic criteria for the masterthesis in the Educational Master’s programme. The jury consists of the supervisor(s) and an additional member (ZAP/OAP/external person, familiar with the research domain). The composition of the jury is confirmed by the educational council of the Educational Masters. The final score is the average of the scores of each jury member. If the difference between the highest and the lowest proposed assessment grade is more than 4/20 (20%), even after discussion, an additional assessor is appointed.
