Offer 2 with catalog number 4020407ENW for working students in the 1st semester at a (E) Master - advanced level.
The students acquire insight in the examination and application of available evidence-based clinical interventions and treatments. In this course, students learn to formulate judicious advice regarding best ‘evidence based practice’, and to critically examine the existing scientific literature. Evidence based practice is defined here, in line with the APA, as ‘the conscientious and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions regarding the client and their treatment’. Judicious application of best clinical practices not only entails taking the scientific basis into account, but also its clinical utility as well as the unicity of the client system. Students are trained to present an integrated, balanced and compassionate advice regarding the interventions / treatments to be used. Furthermore, they acquire practical experience in the application of some important clinical skills for evidence based clinical interventions in the skills labs.

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:

It is necessary to pass for both the group paper and the exam video (unrounded grade >= 50%) to pass this course.
If you obtain a grade of at least 50% (unrounded) during the first exam period on one or more of the three evaluation parts (group paper / exam video / active participation and reflection), this score is automatically transferred to the second exam period. It is not possible to decline this grade transfer.
It is not possible to transfer partial grades to the next academic year.
In the second exam period, the group paper is either a revision of the group paper (for students who took part in the first exam period) or new, individual paper (given no participation in the first exam period.) If three or more students from the same group are required to revise their paper, a separate peer evaluation is organized in 2nd term. Since this is not possible with smaller groups, this weighting in 2nd term is dropped in that case.
In the second exam period, the exam video assignment requires making an entirely new video.
In the second exam period, a reflection assignment substitutes the “active participation and reflection” part of the first exam period.
